After spending an hour this morning working on a 3D Canvas project, I decided I’d had enough painting for a bit. I’ve painted 3 saws and 8 canvases since Christmas and I was feeling a bit burnt out on it. Then suddenly, I was inspired to do a tree! I started with a 36 inch long 5 strand copper cable and wrapped and twisted another 30 or 40 strands of copper and steel together to make a 20 inch tall tree. In the process, I also managed to cover my hands and arms in scratches. I look like I fell down in a briar patch!
I haven’t decided if this guy is done or if he needs one more round of fine wire to complete the picture… I think I’ll sleep on it 🙂
